Fish die coral live?

How come I can keep corals alive in a 2 gallon pico but I can’t keep any fish alive in the tank. I killed a clownfish somehow in the pico tank. And now I have a fire fish goby that is not in good health at all. Yesterday he was out wading and swimming around and then recently he is hide information laying down wedged between a rock and looks like he is struggling. Fed once or twice a day, try to multiple feeding sessions in the earnings because that’s the most time I have to feed him. I’m using mysist feast along with garlick power. He does have ick and I’ve been trying to control it though trying to boost his immune system but it doesn’t seem to be working. I don’t have a QT tank set up.

I think you answered your own question here. Corals can’t get ich. You really need to treat the firefish in another tank. It will be easy to set up a small QT for a small fish like that and leave your DT fallow for at least 76 days to get rid of the ich.

For ich copper is the gold standard, but like I said, this needs to be done in a separate tank because copper will kill your corals. But that separate tank doesn’t need to be anything more than a large Tupperware with an air stone and frequent water changes to keep the ammonia levels down.

Marine ich is a completely different parasite than freshwater.

That tank might also be too small to support a fish, especially a larger one like a clown.

Often in small tank with no overflow and no skimmer, fish died overnight due to hypoxemia, lack of Oxygen at night. Those that did not died are stressed out and sick due to low O2.

I do have an air stone running at max to help the gas exchange
