Purchased what was labeled as a cleaner wrasse to help a little with my bristleworms before they get to overwhelming. I’ve been doing lots of research on wrasse fish and am stumped after not finding a single one that looks like this other than the tube lip wrasse. Any ideas what this fish could be exactly?

Looks like a juvenile Halichoeres bivittatus to me. But will wait for evolved.

I could be wrong but the head shape seems wrong... that's why I went the Goby.

Take note in Post #3, first sentence!:oops::cool: I plead the fifth!

You might be right...in looking at the pictures again, the head does have more of a blunt front-end. I'll leave it to the experts. :D

Yep very possible. Looking for some juve pictures and they do look very similar. I love it that NJ folks are up and running this early and identifying fish :)

Well there you go....shows how observant I am....I knew Gareth was NJ, and now see you are too! This self-isolation is driving me nuts....but this was a little distraction and fun. Stay safe friend and stay home!

I just spent $90 on flower bulbs and an auger bit for something to do lol. waiting on lumber delivery to finish a pergola in the side yard. I have a dry 180 gallon i need to setup but waiting, still need rock, pumps and an overflow. Dont want to use my savings on an aquarium not knowing when customer count is going back to normal lol.
