So I have this blue hippo tang that I put into the acclimation box around Noon, its 415 PM now and none of my other fish have really paid any attention. I mainly did this to see if there would be any aggression. Is it too early to release? Should I give it more time?

Thank mates

-Royal Gramma ( he is a little aggressive over his territory)
- One spot foxface (super skiddish)
- 2 Picasso clowns, pay not attention to anyone but their torch and frogspawn
- Melenarus wrasse
- Lubbocks wrasse
- 2 Wheelers gobbies

Thanks in advance.

I tend to release in the morning, after the other fish have had their first meal.
Everyone's relaxed and it gives the newcomer plenty of time to look around before nightfall.
Also to make sure that the newcomer doesn't come down with 'spots' overnight. (Yes definitely QT first, esp tangs.)

Your melanurus wrasse and the hepatus tang may have 'words' at some point but probably won't actually fight.
I wouldn't think the basslet would be a problem unless the tang is really small.

The hippo is only about 2 inches, everyone hangs out in the Grammas spot but he doesnt care for the lubbocks wrasse.

I'd think its ok to release into the tank. I'm interested in the triggers. I bet that's colorful ! Can Ya show us a pic of the hippo & tangs ?

So I released him and immediately fed. Tried rods food today and everyone loved it. My foxface won’t come out if I’m by the tank. Only aggression is from the gramma, has chased twice since being in but he sticks to his side of the tank and the hippo is just out and roaming.
