Just finished mine framed with 2x4 with 1/2” cabinet grade wood all around. 3 coats of cabinet paint. 1/2” threaded rods secured with a strut on both the canopy and in the attic.

So how did it come out?

for those of you that has had your floating canopy any tips and tricks?
Measure, then remeasure then measure again lol. I didn’t have any issues while building mine but I took my time doing so and very thing I calculated I would let’s double check

Not fully "floating" but rests on my radion RMS mount that goes across the tank. Cut spillage and cleaned up the look nicely.

For those that suspend them from the ceiling, what are you doing to hide your power cables etc? these look great and I want to have a floating canopy of some sort when I move.

I have my electrical running down behind the wall which comes out and connect to the duplex outlet I have integrated into the canopy for the power strips for the lighting

That is NICE
Thank you, I’ve had to take some steps back from my vision but I know all will work out. Unfortunately the xr15 g5 at that height were great for even light spread but suck at penetration. If they were g4 it would have been perfect. I sold the xr15 and purchased xr30 and will be mounting them in the canopy as soon as they arrive
