So theres a killer deal nearby for 2 maxspect xf350s for only 100$. Im currently running 2 sicce voyagers rated for 530 each, 2 return pumps for 210 each, and a fluval rated for 260. Im running an sps dominant but I do have a good amount of lps and softies, is there any problem with these gyres being too overkill for the tank and should I remove the other pumps and replace it with the two gyres. Any advice on mounting options too

Thats a really good deal, I would go for it, and I would use the gyres over the powerheads. The gyres will be a little less noticeable in that size tank than powerheads, and I feel they just put out better all-around flow. Just my opinion, good luck

Its always confused me how the gyres work. They just fully circulate instead of a directional stream right? The big issue im facing is im not sure ill be able to get the 2nd running since its connection keeps cutting out

It depends on the gyres but mine can be set to run all kinds of patterns in either forward only or reverse or both at same time

Whats the difference between the two modes?
what do you mean.....if you mean forward and reverse its just that they run forward and reverse...gives different type of flow. Also can speed up and slow to to certain ammount. Like mine is minium it flows before switching to other pump is 20% and i have it set maximum of 70%. Many ways to run them....now i dont know about the ones your talking about but probably has different patterns too

oh i use 3 diferent ones throught the 24 hour period.....it will be whatever works for your tank and rock structure and corals. You will have to try them out and see what works for your tank. Im running hydros app but im running gyre mode ,LPS reef mode and square wave pattern. I am only changing it up so as to keep the reef with less dead zones that detrius might lodge up in. Trying to keeps things in suspention for my skimmer to skim out
