So I ordered the Algae Free brand Sure Flow mod for my MJ900. Its like a pressure cleaner, and everything in my tank absolutely gets annihilated. What can I do to increase flow in the top half of my tank, and have it be slower for the bottom half (containing LPS, softies, and zoanthids)??

I hear that Koralias are really big, and they might shade some of my corals which isnt good. Any suggestions are welcome.

Really? The maxijet with the shroud on it was like a beast of a machine. I turned it on and my GSP like bent over in half and all zoas instantly closed and a minisandstorm happened. Definitely NOT GOOD lol. Great for people who have a big tank, but not for me.

So would you all recommend the Koralia? For my 24 gallon with LPS, softies, and zoos, would I do a 1 or 2?

I really like my K4s. I have 2 in my 90 and they give a pretty strong flow but not directional. I have pretty much some of everything and they all seem to like the flow. As far as big.... and shading I wouldn't think so. The shroud is slotted all over and there is a thin stem connecting them to the suction cup thingy. I'm not sure how close your corals to the walls of your tank either....but I like mine.....my .02

I had one K3 in a 29 and it was almost enough by itself. I had a Ehim 1250 return that made up the difference....

Its just that Im getting some more SPS frags, ala Rev :), this week and my MJ isnt very strong delivering to the whole top half of the tank. If anyone is interested in this kit, I made a thread and Im willing to trade for a K1.

I run two K4s in my 40 gallon. I just aim the streams at the front of the tank.
IOt takes a day or two for the corals to get used to it, but they seem to really like it.

OK, are you using the smaller or the larger impeller that came with the kit?

If you are using the larger, switch it out to the smaller. Helps A lot.

I used the smaller one in my 1200 and it was perfect.
