Good Morning,

I set up a small fluidized sand bed as an experiment on my smaller frag tank. It has limited space in the sump for LR, so I wanted to compensate for the lack of filtration.

I'm interested in hearing any good or bad stories other members may have from using a fluidized sand bed.

Thanks,

I have not used one, however I am going to watch this as I have thought of doing one myself.

I used one about 15 years ago on a FOWLR setup I had. It helped with the added surface area. It had very low flow. I had no sump but used a custom HOB acrylic filter with three chambers and could only fit so much media in it for biological filtration so I added the fluidized sand filter. Not sure about using with corals though.
