That’s the thing I’m still working everything out I’m new so most likely not doing everything right haha. Since you use the stock let me as you this. What exactly do you put in the slots for the media
I just run the stock sponges for now, eventually I will upgrade to the inTank brand media baskets

The standard saltwater Flex filter comes with the sponge blocks with cutouts. They come with bags of ceramic bio rings and bags of activated charcoal to place in the cutouts. The thing with the standard setup is that the flow just randomly enters the foam block and can largely bypass it. That’s the flaw that the Intank media baskets correct.

I have a flex and it’s crystal clear. You shouldn’t need a filter if you are doing everything else right.

Do you have any tricks on water not evaporating so Fast, i tried a no lid and i had to replace water so fast.

Hey I got another question for you guys. What kinda protein skimmer do you use for your fluval flex? I have the fluval one and it’s annoyingly loud and sometimes gets a hum that drives me nuts I constantly have to mess with it to get it silent and I’m also so sick of messing with the rubber band to get it right

I had one for like a week then got rid of it, i havent had one long term ever. Personally i dont really see a need for skimmers. The fluval one is very flimsy i found, especially the clear box on the top of it.

For sure I think it’s the clear box that makes half the noise tbh. I’ve heard they have some good benefits at clearing out the tank every day I empty it out it catches a lot of dirty stuff. I feel with the media basket i just ordered and a good skimmer my tank will be perfectly clean

I ordered the inTank ones they seemed pretty good

We bought the tunze 9001DC skimmer for our flex but haven't installed it yet. The tank has just finished cycling and only has one fish in it . We've also got the in tank media baskets . The Icecap skimmer has good reviews as well. The R2R search engine helped me decide
