Did you ever find a source for good settings for the light? I have one and am now trying to figure out how to set it up best. Thanks! It's a 72 gallon bowfront.
I only have it on a 10 gal. Hopefully it will work for me. I will keep looking for some good settings! Thanks!I had a 65 G and couldn't grow stuff with the Fluval Marine light. My zoas stretched and nothing grew. It wasn't until I bought AIs things started to take off.
Just my personal experience
Oh that's OK thenI only have it on a 10 gal. Hopefully it will work for me. I will keep looking for some good settings! Thanks!
It is mounted in the hood that comes with the tank (I want to keep using the hood), so only about 2". The issue is that Fluval provides no guidance on settings for the light. Some people will say (just making the %'s up for the example) that they use 100% blue, 80% white, 5% red and it works well, others will say they use 50% blue, 80% white, 50% red. and it works well. I would like to find some solid advice or numbers for the light other than "this seems to work".Since overall intensity seems to be the issue(technically not an “issue”) with these, how high is it mounted?
It has the par levels on the box. What I am interested in finding out is the best mixture of colors. It has red, white, purple, blue and cyan as colors that can be individually adjusted. So, for example, do I want 100% blue and 0% red or perhaps 80% blue and 20% red, etc.? It's a total guessing game because Fluval doesn't provide any guidance at all. I just want some good advice about what mix of those colors is best to make my corals grow.Have you tried calling Fluval? The only way of really knowing is by checking Par levels. Perhaps rent one from a LFS?

Searching just shows that a lot of others want to know the same thing.
I did. The answer was basically that the best settings for any situation were the settings it came with. You can mess with them if you want to, but it won't make it any better. So, if you change anything, you're just making things worse. So you did try calling them?

Is this your sole means of lighting? I have one on my 90g but to purely supplement my 2 4ft T5's. I would probably bump the whites if so, or follow @Sleeping Giant pattern since he seems to be experiencing success.

I'm also using 2 t5 lights ( Hagen Power-Glo & Marine-GLO) and an original 48-60" Fluval LEDIs this your sole means of lighting? I have one on my 90g but to purely supplement my 2 4ft T5's. Ah ha! Same setup then :D .... I would think if this the only light on the OP's setup, it's not enough...I'm also using 2 t5 lights ( Hagen Power-Glo & Marine-GLO) and an original 48-60" Fluval LED
