I came across this while study my bible the other day and became quite sad...

Revelations 21:1
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

So no sea in the new heaven and earth??? What the point then?

I really don't mean it, but I thought it was interesting and thought I would share... I think heaven is going to so amazing you, I mean the greatest writers of the bible weren't even able to describe it, so I don't think I would be able to. (although Todd Bently is an exception, he can do anything)

well at the rate the sea is dieing off that may come sooner than later. Fine with me cause to me God is more important than the sea.

Its going to be funny when 2050 rolls around and the coral reefs are doing just fine.

Coral reefs are very resiliant. How do you think they lasted this long? The reef adapts to the current situation. Thats my thinking and i will let science and mother nature take its course.

Well-good thing the book of Revelation was a vision to John that had alot of symbolic representations instead of "literal" meanings- notice, keeping things in context with the rest of the bible:

Isaiah 57:20-But the wicked are like the sea that is being tossed, when it is unable to calm down, the waters of which keep tossing up seaweed and mire.

James 1:5-6- 5 So, if any one of YOU is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him. 6 But let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about.

Eccl.1:4-A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite

Psalms 104:5- 5 He has founded the earth upon its established places; It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever

No worries for the earth nor the seas, but the masses of people alienated from God, would be no more, nor satan and his demons that use to reside in heaven-

2peter 3:11-13- 11Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought YOU to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, 12 awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah, through which [the] heavens being on fire will be dissolved and [the] elements being intensely hot will melt! 13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.

good stuff

Im glad to see that there are people here that have faith and show it, good stuff. it seems some time all people are intrested in any more the tabloids:horse:

o man a heaven with out a sea is no heaven to me!I think heaven is what you want it to be, so if your heaven has a sea, then guess what! You will have your sea! :)

I AM SO PLEASED that we are allowed to discuss matters of religion on this site. So many others are "afraid" of offending someone that any mention of a religious topic becomes instantly deleted.

KEEPERZ - I understand that the John's use of sea he is most likely relating to the sea of the dead. In which he is probably describing the new earth to be with dead. Especially with the previous chapter using the same greek word for sea, 'thalassa', Rev 20:13-14 - "13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death"

I was just having a little fun since this is a site devoted to the obession of things of the sea. Just a fun way to bring out the word, and I'm glad you shared even more of the word.

oceanparadise1 - I see you have a nice tattoo with scripture on you arm, so I'm will assume you are some what familar with it. I just wanted to say becareful because I believel that scripture supports what you said here.

I think heaven is what you want it to be, so if your heaven has a sea, then guess what! You will have your sea!

I would be interested in seeing what supports this in the scripture.
