Hi guys, my Fowleri tang has got possible flukes I think in his left eye. It's been there for a few days now (4-5) his eating fine. Perhaps his more hungry than usual but his body has slight off colour marks or patches which are not really noticeable unless you look really close at him. I'm not sure if that's just stress or something else. But wanted to ask what to do and should I take action to treat his eye. All the other fish I have are fine, I thought maybe with good feeding and no stress and maybe the cleaner shrimps helps id wake up and it would be back to normal but it hasn't. What steps or treatments would be best to do that won't stress the fish out... Thanks

The general assumption is if just one eye is suddenly involved, it’s an injury. If both eyes are cloudy, and it developed slowly, it is Neobenedenia flukes. There is also a rare internal eye fluke that doesn’t cause cloudiness.

Is the fish scratching/flashing or rocking in place? If not, I’d say this is just a minor injury and watch it closely for any changes.

No iv not seen him scratching or flashing, his abit more erratic and not as calm as he usually is and his swimming around alot more than usual and super hungry. But he also keeps going over towards the cleaner shrimps to get cleaned.

That is another sign of flukes - posturing for cleaner shrimp.

Another possibility is that the fish scratched its eye because it was acting skittish due to flukes…..
