I currently have a frogspawn with 20+ heads and I want to frag it. My question is can I just cut the branch where I want and proceed to make a new frag, or am I missing something?

when cutting frog spawn into frags as long as you cut below the flesh of the head you'll have no issues.

Just did this to my hammer coral for the first time this weekend. Don't be scared, it's actually really easy to do. Here is a pic of the little guy.

curious how you guys go about cutting.. I don't have a band saw and I'd think cutters would crush the skeleton more than cut it but I could be wrong..

that reminds me, I have to call dremel and get them to fix mine.. 3 uses and the chuck is stuck with that stupid button (chuck lock) just clicking and slipping.... biggest piece of crap I've ever paid good money for..

With my hammer coral I had cutters and scissors ready, but the branch just came off with good ol fashion brute strength. I'd imagine it's not normally this easy though. Have heard of people using dremels - is this for every type of coral / rock? Might have to invest.

Grip the skeleton of the branch you want to take off with plers. Give it a good hard twist and it should snap right off.

mostly LPS, LPS is IMO the hardest to frag.. sps can usually be snapped off or clipped, softies can be cut with a knife..

I use my dremmal on quite a few corals. If i want to control where the sps break more i will use it. Here is another vid.

Thanks for all the info. I counted the heads on this sucker this morning and there's 24. And more heads are splitting
