Ten different species of phytoplankton (Tetraselmis, Nannochloropsis, Isochrysis, Thalassiosira weissflogii, Chaetoceros Muelleri, Chorella, Dunaliela Tertiolecta, Rhodomonas Salina, Pheaodactylum tricornutum and Pavlova) are included. Consistent dosing of live phytoplankton has many benefits including healthier corals, increased copepod populations, and nutrient export.

I start with fresh, sterilized, artificial saltwater and culture each species separately with F/2 fertilizer.

Wild morning splitting and shipping. I have around two gallons that I won’t be using for my pod culture that could be shipped tomorrow.

Wow what a wild week for us. I’m just a fellow reefer who’s loving wife allows to have way too many tanks . Found out just how great Copepods and Phyto are for my tanks, but from the big vendors it was too many $$ for the 1200 gallons of tanks in my house (Yes she still loves me!! ). I started culturing my own 6 months ago with many successes and failures along the way, great advice and encouragement on this most loved forum @REEF2REEF, to save money. Then I thought, why not try to sell some to cover the cost of the supplies (so of course I had to spend more for larger vessels, real air pump, etc,etc,etc). Tried our State Reef Society classifieds, but most of them live in the Metro areas and can buy from someone in town so don’t want to pay shipping, so I decided to try here and got a few orders, then a few more, maybe enough to cover the salt and additives for the cultures. Then a week of nothing, then decent again. Really depends on how much time I put into boosting my listing, had two weeks with nothing, so I commented on my listing and sent out some reminders to those who bought from me before and had a good week, but then my listing got blocked. According to Selling Terms of Service, we needed to be sponsors to sell from home on a consistent basis (I had read the terms and had reached out to one of the administrators to clarify and get instructions to be a sponsor, who unfortunately was busy and didn’t get back to me, it happens.) But I panicked as I had just bought new larger glass carboys so I would have enough for me and to sell, but no worries the guys at R2R stepped up and got my listings right back up (Can’t hurt that I had asked before I started so they knew when they looked that I wasn’t trying to game the system ).
