Frogspawn coloration

Hey everyone, my innovative marine 25 lagoon has been running for about 3 months now and I was noticing a change in color on one of my frogspawn euphyllia corals. It’s developing a brownish color. Should I be concerned?

Could be too much light or nutrient deficiency. But your corals look to be doing good so it might be too much light...

Thank you, i'll reduce the lighting intensity and see if it helps.

Where is it in relation to the light? I would think it's not enough light... too much would give it a bleached look I thought

Looks like it is almost bleached and “dried” up in a way. Looks like you may have added a lot of light too quickly for its liking. Or you’re running your lights more 6-8hours a day. I️ would try reducing the light every few days until the color starts to come back. If that doesn’t help then I️ would move the frogspawn to the bottom until he looks a lil better! The frogspawn look semi-clear when I bought it. So that has not changed, I just recently switched from a kessil a160we to a hydra 26 HD. The kessil was ran at half intensity at the most and the hydra is at 65% on the blue channels and 40-50% on the violets. But I will try moving it, my torch is also been closed up a lot and it is at the very top, while this particular frogspawn is in the middle.

The light is on for 8 hours with a 1 hour ramp up/down.

I️ would check your water parameters and move your corals away from the intense light. Every Euphyllia corals: Frogspawn, torch, etc. like low light and low flow. So if they’re not wanting to open and look bleached and dried up then I️ would move them away from the light, such as to the bottom of your tank, and then continue to run your lights for no more than 8 hours a day.

All of these seems to be a direct effect from your lighting, but to be on same safe side go ahead and check your water levels and move both corals to the bottom of tank until they look a little better. I hope this helps [emoji38] keep me posted!!
