My tank has been running for several years and i have multiple mature frogspawn however, in the last few weeks a few of the heads have been turning white. They still retract and eat and look fine but have turned white. nothing has changed except that I was away the last few weekends so less water changes, however parameters are all consistent

Are all the white heads around the bottom of the coral? They might be getting shaded out. (not enough light)

Thanks. Should I buy a par meter? they are expensive but I agree there may not be enough light. do you know what the PAR should be for frogspawn? the other two are doing well.

If the coral is happy then I would just leave things the way they are. No need to make changes. Maybe over time the skeleton will grow big enough for these little heads to see the light of day, but until then just let nature take its course. GL.

New heads can shade the older ones as they grow in.
Maybe that’s what’s wrong.
Do you have your parameters?
Also a lot of local fish stores will let you rent theirs as a cheaper alternative. Mine does it for free as long as you leave a card on file.
