I’ve had mr frogspawn for over 2 years it has split from 2 heads to 10! It has been flourishing! I usually do 20% water change every 2 weeks. My entire tank has been doing awesome. I rarely check my water parameters anymore with exception of salinity, usually sits between 1.021-1.025. I missed my last water change because of vacation and noticed my frogspawn shrunk when I got home so I did water change the next day. It did not help the frogspawn so after a 2-3 days I did another both were about 20%. It does not have brown goo, it just looks like purple bulbs on end of each head. Half of my Xenia stems also melted. My candy cane and acan are doing well. My Duncan is not opening as much but not melted. Which water parameters are frogspawn most sensitive to? Should I just give it more time?

Check magnesium. Run some carbon in case there's a contaminant. You should target a specific salinity and stay there.

Ok I used my home test kit and tested ph about 8.2 but my alkalinity seems like like 2.5?!? Is that even possible?! My alkalinity has always been high like 11-13? I must have done the test wrong?

Lol, no idea if you did the test wrong...
Do it again and then if it still says it's that low, I'd strongly suggest getting a different test kit (or a new kit of the same brand you have) and try once more. It could be that the reagents are bad or expired.

Regarding your temp... Is it possible the power went out while you were gone? "The green zone" is not a temperature... Are you using a reliable thermometer?

In post #6, you said you run your Alk at 8.5, but here you say 11-13, and in your first post, you said "I rarely check my water parameters anymore".
While I doubt alk is 2.5, without a recent history of what it has been, it's not easy to say if alk is a factor here.

I’d be in water change mode. When stuff mysteriously goes bad I just do a 20% water change every day for a week or so. It looks like they are getting ready to bail out

post #6 was mine and what I run my parameters at as a suggestion to op.

would be nice to know what the other parameters are running at?
I had coral doing just fine for quite a while suddenly start melting. turn out my phosphates were bottomed out and finally took its toll in a sudden way much like op described.

Ok I got a different strip test to test the alkalinity it says it’s about 13 so definitely something wrong with my test kit! I also tested phosphate about .2 I think that is a little high but mine has run higher with no bad effect on my corals? Like I said all my corals have been doing awesome for a couple years! I’ll post another photo under white light as requested. Just don’t know what else to do?

Your phosphates may be a little high but thats better than being bottomed out in this case. How about nitrates?

Did any close neighbors spray for anything that may have gotten In the house.
It's summer time, are you sure there wasn't a temperature spike while away? We're still grasping at straws playing guessing games.
