I had a lot of frustration with nuisance algae even after I got my nutrients down. Finally found info on using peroxide and got rid of the bryopsis I had. Took the rocks/coral out a few at a time....sprayed with peroxide, waited 3 minutes then rinsed the rock or coral and returned to the tank. Do some reading on this to see if it might be right for you. It ended a lot of frustration for me. Didn't loose any livestock.
