GFCI 2 plug with only one protected outlet?

Is there such a thing? I'm getting ready to start a new system and I want to replace my standard 2 outlet receptacle with a GFCI but I don't want everything on a GFCI so I'm wondering is there is one that only one outlet is protected by GFCI?
I thought about a GFCI power strip but I can't find one with individual switches for the outlets which is a must have. If anyone knows of one of those I'm all ears.

I certainly hope not, but you never know what’s availble on alibaba these days. Oops, my wife plugged her hair drier into the bottom outlet instead of the top when the toilet overfilled and she slipped on the floor.

Any particular reason you don’t want everything to be on a gfci? If it’s the old wives tale about nuisance trips….that really hasn’t been an issue for about twenty years now (on properly installed units).

I don't believe so, it doesn't make sense (to me) to do that where one of the two receptacles is not GFCI protected. @BeanAnimal would know for sure.

I’ll try to put it into mechanic terms. Can I get ABS brakes for the drivers side, but non-ABS on the passenger side?

I may just run a new circuit and put a box in with GFCI. Basement is unfinished and I already have holes where plumbing used to be for a basement sump so it would be easy to do.

I may just run a new circuit and put a box in with GFCI. Basement is unfinished and I already have holes where plumbing used to be for a basement so it would be easy to do.

Haha! There are no dumb questions! At least that’s what I’ve been told anyway. Ha!

Personally I don’t hesitate to use gfci any longer. However, I do like redundancy, so I try to have multiple circuits, or at least multiple gfci outlets on one circuit to lessen the chance of everything going dark.

I am not aware of any duplex device that is split between GFCI and non-GFCI on the same device. It may exist somewhere, but would be confusing to end users, so I am not sure how UL would handle that.

You can certainly put in a double duplex box and have one yoke be GFCI and the other not. I will leave it to you and your AHJ and electrician to decide if you are allowed by code to upgrade and not have a GFCI and/or AFCI.

Thanks No code or inspections here where I'm at but I understand. I think I'll just run a new circuit and make it GFCI and be done with it. I like the idea of a dedicated circuit just for the tank anyway. I can run the return off the existing outlet but may just put it on GFCI as well. It's not like I'm ever gone longer than a couple of hours.

Build out your own power snake and use several GFCIs then. That way you remove the single point of failure.

I was over thinking things I decided to just swap the existing outlet to a GFCI and be done. Being retired and not traveling I'm never away long enough to worry if it does trip.

I upgraded my outlet to GFCI (duplex), then used the nifty Kasa HS300 outlet strip that has button per outlet AND WiFi control. Alexa can control it, so I can say "Alexa, turn off return pump" and it happens. Or you can manually control each outlet.

I have a smart strip with individually controlled outlets but I can't being myself to talk to Alexa or any other non person unless it's angry words and they don't listen
EDIT: I should have said I don't talk to non living creatures. I have plenty of meaningful conversations with my dogs and a couple fish lol.

Probably easier to leave it as a standard receptacle and just get a gfci extension like below to achieve what you are after.
