I like the Bulk Reef Supply "High Capacity" GFO. I used to run a Two Little Fishing reactor, but have since switch to the BRS (dual) reactor.

As far as flow goes, I use just enough to keep the media moving/hopping on the very top. This allows for enough flow that the media turns over (slowly) throughout the reactor.

I have brs hc gfo lasts a long time, I do not use reactors, I use socks so the hc works better for me.

What is best flow rate, have any of you encountered a slight yellow tinch to the water
I have mine in my fuge, the pump is 220gph into my fuge. The sock is in a high flow area on the way to the return. No yellow tint.

What is your tank size and how much gram per liter do you use in the sock

30 gallon with 3.6 gallon fuge... I run half the amount brs states on their directions. For me half is working good enough where I have nutrients for the corals and the algae is starting to slow down. At first I had no nutrients in the water and had coral issues. I'm still fine tuning my nutrient level.

Are you having algae issues? Why do you want to start GFO?
