I picked up this anemone from Petco last week. By all appearances it’s a gigantea. However, the anemone is missing the spots on the underside commonly associated with gigs.

In secondary tank at home to avoid contact with an established gig in DT. Looking good for the most part overnight but gets deflated later in the day.

Looks like a Gig. They go through a lot before making it to a retail store like petco. So it’s pretty common for the verrucae to fade out from stress/infection. I’d definitely treat it in qt before adding it to a tank with an established gig.

The small gig is coloring up nicely. There aren’t any white spots from bleaching left. Added wide flow nem guards but it seems to have backfired. The large gig started to walk and the tentacles aren’t as elongated.
