Hey guys this dude doesn’t come out very often but he’s HUGE. He eats whole shrimp (assuming the eel doesn’t rip it outta his mouth :o)

thought I’d share. If anyone knows the species of brittle star as well that would be awesome, unsure of this coloration.
I’d say from one arm/leg whatever you’d like to call to the other is around 16-18”

Oh, wow. He looks like someone hit a micro brittle with a growth ray. You aren't doing any mad science, are you?

I don’t know his whole story - but he was brought to a LFS because....
.. he was eating the customers fish. I’ve had him about a month now and usually hand feed him after the eel. I have lots of damsels in the tank as well as a bristletooth and I have never seen him mess with any of the fish and some of the damsels hide in his cave. Kind of interesting but he doesn’t seem to bother much if I make sure he is actually getting fed.

I wonder if he was either starving, or being blamed for fish deaths he didn't cause. Almost any large, mobile invertebrate will go after small animals if it's starving, and they will, of course, gladly eat dead fish.

Yeah I’m sure it wasn’t done intentionally, he’s been eating quite good here though. I’ve got a pretty large fuge under this tank and Nitrates are right where I’d like them so at this time I’m not changing my feeding regime. All these folks will be in a 8’ tank in about 8 months.
(apart from those damsels, they fool me over and over again, hands down the meanest fish I own, lol)

I love damsels. Gotta admire that attitude. It's not their fault they're like that, anyway, it's instinct.
