I am about to move from San Diego to Northern Texas and I'm not sure if I want to start fresh or transfer my current rock/coral/fish to an upgraded system. I currently have a 36G UNS aquarium with an Aqua Clear 70 HOB filter/Comline 9001 DC Skimmer. I kind of like the idea of an AIO because I have never included/built anything else. I want the best but I'm unsure which route to go. I'm shooting for 80-200G. Any Ideas/suggestions would be appreciated!

Sell on Facebook Marketplace in your old location; then when you are truly ready (hopefully sooner than later), restart the dream with a nice Innovative Marine AIO tank in your new location. And send us all pictures❗

I feel like whenever I inevitably move, I’m going to find a way to keep all my rock alive and wet for the transfer. Such a big impact and it’s either a big expense to start by buying all live rock or a big time investment to get dry rock to where it is mature.

I think you need to rehome your fish and corals before you move. I’m assuming you do not have a cycled and established system ready at your new house. Even if you manage to keep the fish and corals alive during the move once you get yo Texas where do you put them in? After the transit stress they need to go into an established system so they can start recovering.

I think it comes to you need to make the decision on what’s best for these animals.

I know too many people who lost fish and corals when they just move 20 minutes away.

I appreciate all of your responses! Which AIO does everyone recommend? Im trying to figure out if I could ship some of the live rock to TX prior to arriving. How long would the new tank need to establish if I added some of the current live rock? I 100% understand this hobby takes time and rushing anything usually creates an unbalance. Starting fresh is probably the best answer but so much time and effort has gone into my current tank.
