Hello,
After about a decade off and two uninformed failed budget builds I’ve decided to try once more to build a mixed reef tank I’ve always envisioned. This forum has been exponentially helpful with trying to do my research this time around and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m planning on taking things very slowly getting it properly cycled and slowly introducing a bioload but I’m absolutely all ears for any pitfalls I should lookout for, I had major algae issues in the past so I’m gonna try to be very diligent.
-Tank: (reefer 200xl 43 gallon display
-Sump: 11 gallon with planned small refugium
-Skimmer reef octopus 130
-lightning reefer red 90
- two unknown wave generators
-3 pump dosing setup (for when I buildup the courage to get corals).
-40lbs dry live rock
- 40 to 60lbs of live pink sand
- RODI
- NYOS and Red Sea test kits.
