Today is was time to do some gardening in my butterflyreef.
The corals were growing into eachother and towards the surface. Light, flow and space for the fish to swim were getting limited and it was time to do something about it.

A dozen of acropora frogskin frags was the result of "a days work"

Before, after and frags

Glenn, thanks for sharing all of your techniques. Few questions:

What foods are you feeding right now? Any idea how much in mass and water content (dried vs frozen)?

Thanks, have a great weekend!
Nowadays i feed 90% deepfreeze and norileafs.
I seldom use dryfood.
Daily 65 gram deefreeze food
1 norileaf went into blender

Are you finding that K, B, I, Mn, and Fe (if trace, not for P reduction) dosing is fixed or do you have to adjust?
How much do you have to adjust N and P controls, for example how often to adjust NO3 dosing?
Have you measured PAR levels in any of your tanks?

Thanks, have a great weekend!

In the original fullDSR Method you adjust on demand. Measure and do corrections as advised on the calculator and the suggested measuring intervals http://dsrreefing.com/dsrcalculator/

If you work with it for a while, you get the "touch" and can finetune the process. it's like learning to drive a car. A novice will use the gas and brake more often than an experienced driver.

Since 2016 there is the EZ line.
The EZTrace take care of al other elements, less measurement

I have no PAR meter yet. I use my gut feeling to d design my own fixtures

For 66”x40”x25” I’m doing ten LED pucks with tightly clustered LEDs, similar to Kessil. Plus six 80w T5 tubes. Are you going to add any T5 or waiting on that?

How in the heck are you going to build a 420cm tank? Does plate glass even come in pieces with that dimension? This is going to be something to see! It looks like you started with the 1100 liter tank first?
