Oh come on guy's, the corals are just too beautiful & bright, I think they are FAKE !
And the fish are those found in kids cereal !

lol,...beautiful Glenn !

AND,....I started out in the 90's using VHO's and most said corals, including sps's, without a halide, but we did very well with 4 -VHO fluorescent's on a IceCap dimmer. We returned to the hobby and found that LED's are very popular, so we bought some well known lighting systems, but are disappointed with them. So, we bought a 6 tube ATI system. We are still building the 125g mixed reef but we did plug the light's in and they look great. We'll see how we like the coral's and fish when finished.

Yours look wonderful !

Yes... if youdon't know better, corals do look like fake artefact.
They are so beautiful and unreal at their full glory.

The fish a indeed like toys colors compared to fresh water fish.
That's why is switched to saltwater aquariums in back in 2004 after a lifetime with freshwater tanks.

T5 Lighting bulb are idiotproof. That's why i still use them.

MetalHalides are way to inefficient so that's why i always avoided them.

Leds are still full in development and there is way to much "garbage" going around. The well know fixture are way to expensive for my tast..
Many reefers fubar their tank because the don't know how to use the right settings for their led fixture. Just coping someone else's setting is not the way to go, because every tank need it's own settings.

Imo the way to go (for now) is hybride, with T5 bulbs supported by LEDs.

Led have great wow factor though, if placed over a tank grown by T5[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Hi Glenn,

Those are some amazing progress pictures. Just to confirm, the date of this last picture is March 14, 2019 (not 2018) correct? I'm sure it has to be but figured its an excuse to reach out with a post. Thanks!

Your 100% right it's 2019
Very perceptive to point that out.
Sometimes it seems like nobody is reading or paying any attention.[emoji13]
