I have a couple spots that are growing encrusting monti’s well but would also like to put a Acro or milli in that spot. I thought it would be cool to have the Acro growing in the middle of a colorful monti ( branching out as the monti continues to encrust out) I am concerned that the monti will outpace the growth of the Acro and not give time for it to encrust properly and succeed. However, monti’s seem to lose against most other sps when competing for space. Have you done it? How did it work out for you? Should I do it? Overall thoughts please.

Thanks

Are not monti's aggressive? I wonder if it will grow over the glue eventually and take over the acro...

Sorry to say, but it will not work out well. The monti always wins.

The ammount of light thaybsystem has is incredible...wow.
No cyano. No algae no diatom...
He runs natural sea level parameters and ultra low nutrients..
His balance is something to be admired no doubt.

A true water wizard.
Hes got some real magic in his tank. :)

Well. I guess it can be done..... but with caution or perhaps constant supervision. More thought I need to put in this. Thank you for the photos and the sweet zeovite inspiration

This guy does acros on acros.

Perhaps this will help you decide, or maybe give you some inspiration.

That’s a beautiful tank, but that thing is going to be a mess in a year or two without an obscene amount of time spent keeping corals from taking over other corals. I’m biased, but I have a lot more respect for tanks that are grown from frags
