Can you show a picture of the Herbie drain you drilled in the back to supplement your other drain? Curious how you did that.

Sorry for the delay, i completely forgot to upload a pic for u. What I did is drill a hole in the back of the overflow as the emergency, the tank was already drilled at the bottom. Hope this helps.

I love this thread. Very beautiful setup.

Thank you I just wish the inside looked as good lol. Murphy paid me a visit shortly after the move, and i lost about 90% of my sps, so I've been slowly working on restocking. I'll try to do better keeping this thread updated, I'm glad people are still checking this thread out.

Well as I said the tank crashed shortly after the transition :( but we will rebuild it! Luckily while I wait to let the tank stabilise enough for my precious sticks I have been able to focus on fish. I have recently added 5 lyre tail anthias, a small (tiny) yellow tang, and a blue spot jawfish. The jaw fish is awesome lol.

I know it's been a while since the last update, but that's because very little has changed lol. I had to have spinal surgery earlier this year so the tank was put on the back burner. Bit now that I'm feeling a little better, the itch to work on the tank is growing.

Last weekend I built a new light rack, and added a pair of blue+ to my radion. It makes my tank look like its in UHD lol. Check em out!

Please ignore the cyano, I'm beating it back, I have reduced it about 80% just working on a couple stubborn spots.

I still have a little touchup work to do, but so far I think its going to be pretty sweet. And my inspiration for the design came from one of the awesome sponsors of this site ;) it will become more evident as this thread progresses lol
Is your sump a stock tank to which you've added baffles, or is it a custom sump? How many gallons is it? It doesn't quite look like a 40b, but it fits in your stand like a glove!

This might be my favorite build thread so far! Amazing work. I've always loved the diy aspect of the hobby. I just built my first stand and canopy was fun to learn some new things.

will be following along!

Thank you for sharing. Loved the cabinet build like everyone else.

any chance you can provide some more detail on the skinning part?
what type and thickness did you use to skin the stand.
and same question for the table top?

I just used 1/2" ply to skin it, but may swap it out down the rd with some 1bys just to beef it up a bit. The ply works fine because it's painted but i think 1bys would look a little better.
