Please please please cheer on the brew crew. It has been forever since I have had the opportunity to be proud of the team I grew up watching.

26 years ago my dad got two tickets to see the brewers play in the world series. I was twelve and really the only thing I ever did with just me and my dad growing up was go to the Brewers games. Sure the occasional fishing on Sat morning but he sucked at that and he always brought my brother along. When he got the tickets it was the highlight of my sporting life. To get to see Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Cecil Cooper, Gordon Thomas, Ben Ogilve, Ted Simmons,Jim Gantner, Don Sutton and all the other Brewers in the world series was like a dream come true. Well it never happened. He took his dad and left me at home. He promised to take me to the next one since the Brewers were such a good team they would surely be back. I never went to another game with my father in my childhood years, to this day I am still crushed I didn't get to go but I totally understand why he took his dad over me. I would do the same today. In fact I didn't go to another game for over sixteen years. About ten years ago I started going to games with the same childhood dream of going to the world series with my father.

Now the crew is in the playoffs. I have hope that they make it back. Unfortunately I can not go to the world series since I will be out of the country. But I was drawn for the lottery to buy tickets to the National League Championship Series. I need everyone here to cheer on the Brewers(Even you Brewer Hating Cub Fans). Even if your team has to play us if we advance. I really want the oportunity to take my dad, brother and grandfather(health permitting) to this one game I have waited 26 years to go to. If it doesn't happen life goes on but wouldn't it be nice to see this childhood dream come true. No it isn't the big show but I fear it may be as close as I get to it. If I get drawn for tickets to the WS I will surely change my plans but it is next to impossible to draw a playoff ticket unless you want to pay scalped prices. And no one in my family can afford that.

Go Brewers Go!

Ya think I don't know that? Try to bring some relevance to the conversation or stay out of it. I didn't ask for immature comments from the peanut gallery. Or is it the peanut?

Hey a few questions for you. Did you read what my post was about? Did I anywhere in the post ask for any sarcastic comments from yankee fans? Why did you feel compelled to even comment on this thread? I could see it comming from cub fans or even fans from any other team still in the playoffs. But what relevance does bringing up the yankees have to do with anything? And why comment at all? Just to be heard? Do you want to cause a stir and get under someones skin. Does it give you pleasure in the fact that I have suffered 26 years just longing to see the brewers get back into the playoffs?

This is a childhood dream of mine. And yes it isn't looking very good right now. This thread wasn't so much about a team as it was getting close to seeing a dream become reality. I would trade ten Packer Super bowl victories for just one chance to just go to a world series game the Brewers play in. Just one. Not even asking for them to win the world series. I just want to be a part of it. I asked for support. You don't have to give it or even care. It isn't anything personal since I know your a good guy. But if you want me to respect you you should try to respect me. Not try to rain on my parade.

Dude, let me tell you I started to tear up when I found out I was drawn for tickets. No bull. You may think it is corny but all my best memories with my dad as a child are at Brewer Games. I just want one more memory with him and the Brewers. That is what this is about. I truly hope no one thinks your dreams are a joke and should be treated with cheap remarks. You want to see a 300+ pound man that looks like a serial killer(got my hunting beard going) cry on national TV. Watch game three of the National League Championship Series(if the Brewers make it that far). I'm so ugly they will have to put me on TV.

Go Brewers Go!

dude relax it was a friendly joke wow way to bug lol havent u ever heard of dont sweet the small stuff??? guess not! ps.....its jus a sport man def should not let it take over ur life! and i dont quite think it was inmature to say go yankees if it is wow i got alot of growing up to do i guess

It doesn't take over my life. My life goes on. And will go on no matter what happens. I live in Green Bay where people live and die by the packers. Serious. You want to see crazy people come to a Packer Game. But generally we are very good fans and treat rival fans with respect. Not every fan mind you but the majority of us do. I hated seeing the Giants beat us last year. But yet was happy they won the Super Bowl. I hated to see Favre go but wish him and the Jets well. His tme in GB was done but I think he showed last week he's got a lot left.

I think anyone who has met me knows I have a solid head and generally am a pretty level guy. I set realistic goals and generally don't get out of control. And if I go a little gaga the next couple of weeks everyone that truly knows me knows how important it is to me. It's OK. After 26 years I think I can get a little gaga.

All I asked was that people contributed to this thread in a positive manner. You did not and it irked me. Like I said before I know your a good guy but just this time you should have kept the yankee comment to yourself. I would love to get into some fun sports banter in another thread at some other time. But not in a thread where I was explaining my childhod dreams and how much they meant to me.

If you would have said something like "cool dude, I hope it works out for you" and then mentioned your yankee pride I could respect that. Come on I was born a Brewer fan. Two trips to the playoffs in my lifetime(I'm 38 years old). It really doesn't get much worse than that. The Yankee's went what the last 13 years in a row. Did you really need to say anything? Trust me.....I know how bad the Brewers have been up to this point. And everyone in the modern world knows how dominant the yankees have been. Let someone else have some fun. Go jack the Dodger Fans.

HAHAHA...looks like our Phillies spanked the Brew-Crew again!!!

CC didn't look too good last night!!!

Seriously, the crew is probably the worst team in the playoffs this year. So don't get to confident. We lost sheets at the end of the year and the rest of the team lost the ability to hit.

I don't blame CC. I blame the offense. Can't wait to see Weeks and Cameron and a few others go play somewhere else next year. We have a great bunch of talent coming up real soon. With Yovani, Parra, Jeffries, Suppan, Bush and Maybe CC in the mix(he likes it here, but money talks). We will be alright. I got a strong feeling Big Red may be our closer next year.

I don't think the Phillies are better than the Brewers. I believe they have a much better manager and it is making all the difference. I think if we find a guy that can get this team going we will be good. But we ain't done yet.

Sorry Gooch but my Phillies are going all the way this year.

I hope if they get past the Brewers they do. But I honestly think the slipper belongs to the Rays this year.

I honestly do not think Philly is that good. And that's not trying to slam them. They can go just as cold as the Brewers are right now. The way it looks right now they should take out the Brewers but I could see it go the other way. The Brewers are more than capable of taking the next three. They have been playing with their backs to the wall for a month now and seem to find just enough to stay alive. Very similar to what happened to the Brewers in 92.

as long as they sign there team they will be back next year(but i think we are taking cc from ya)

No chance CC goes to the yankees. If the Brewers can pony up the money(which I doubt) he will resign here or go to either the Dodgers(my best guess) or the Angels. And he will take less money to do so. New York would eat him alive. And he is a cali guy. You may get Sheets and his broken arm. He is all but certain to be gone. He just can not be counted on. Love him and would not want to play against him but I dont think he will be a Brewer anymore.

We'll get two First round picks for CC and two for Sheets. So in a couple years we should be back. It wont be next year unless we pony up about 28 mil a year for the next six years for CC. I don't see that happening. We will compete. You guys may end up with Prince. He doesn't want to be a Brewer and wants big money. But by the time we trade him to you he will be even bigger and his knees will be shot. He is a horrible first baseman and looks like he may turn out to have the same mentality of his daddy Cecil. He should of took the 60 mil they offered him. Great bat, but his poor fielding is why Yovani ended up getting hurt and he cost us a few games this year too. While your at it take Bill Hall too.

The Yankees need a lot more than just one starter. They are getting OLD. Even you have to admit that. Hank isn't George and Hank will run the yankees into the ground. He comes off as a whiner not a winner. Winners don't complain that they played in teh hardest division in baseball. They suck it up and get it done. They shouldn't of let Torre get away. How will that look if he ends up winning it all this year while the Yankees sit at home and watch. And weren't the Ray's a last place team last year.

The game is changing. Small ball is gonna become more important as home runs continue to decline. Look at the Twins, they almost made it. I thought if they got in they had as good a chance as anyone. I think a manager will be very important to a team. Yost proved that you can take a very talented team and wear it down. Look at the Mets. Another very talented team that just couldn't get it done. A better manager may have helped both out and we wouldn't even be talking about the Phillies this year. I was very impressed by how aggressive Philly was against CC. The difference between those two teams (Brewers and Philly) is clearly the manager. IMO.

the yanks ened EVERYTHING to win, ur right not jus one pitcher thats why we will get cc for starters lol. But if huges and ian can stay healthy along with wang(who was out the who year or the yanks would have made the playoffs) and a heathy pavano and they are right back into the mix

Looks like my Brewers saved me about $800. Next year.

Good news is it sounds like we may get CC for the long term. He got a taste of how wisconsinites are. And he likes it.

But money talks so you never know. It would mean more to a city like Milwaukee to keep CC than it would a team like the dodgers or yankees where he is just another piece/tool. In Milwaukee he is THE MAN.
