I’ve been out of the hobby for a few years but recently dove back in with a new tank. In my prior experience, both goniopora and alveopora were considered very difficult to keep and often withered away in peoples’ tanks (more so goniopora). Has anything changed in the last few years with how we understand how to keep these corals?

A lot has changed! Yes every so often they wilt but it’s much less common now. More people have discovered high Manganese is the best way to keep them thriving.

Is there a thread on here with detailed care for goniopora and alveopora?

While they still can be a challenge to the most experienced hobbyist, they in general require medium light and water flow , flow keeping sediment off of them and typical acceptable water quality with occasional dosing of aminos and manganese to the tank water.
