So according to my eBay history I’ve had my green thumb goniopora since September 29. So I’ve had it for a bit over 3 months now.so far so good.but I wanted to ask those who have had success with them some questions.

1) can goniopora consume Red Sea ab+?

When I first got my goni I picked up some reef roids and tried that but my cleaner shrimp tends to be problematic and harass my corals while I feed them. But I also started broadcast feeding ab+ because one of the tanks at my lfs looks amazing and they feed exclusively ab+ on that tank.

2) how do gonis grow?

as you might be able to see in the pic, my goni is placed in a hole in the rock work. Will it expand in all directions? Will it eventually cause problems when it outgrows the little hole it’s in?

thanks in advance.

I have that same goni. It's healthy after about 6 months under moderate light (~125 PAR) and medium strong flow. I only broadcast feed reef roids for my corals. Most of my other corals are growing like crazy, but the goni hasn't grown much. Given that so many people have trouble keeping them alive, I'm just happy that it hasn't kicked the bucket.

Short stem easier than flower pot type. They ask for stable conditions and a little meal

Looks more like an alveopora to me. I’m on my second try of Goni and it’s going better than the first. One of my favorite corals for sure and I hope to be able to keep a glitter one in the future.

Honestly, I have never had any success with the "pink" Goni. For some reason, it seems to be a lot more sensitive than its green counterpart. I have a pretty decent size green colony that I purchased and it does well. I broadcast feed phyto and marine snow twice a week. I also dose acro power once a week. Seems to be doing well.
