Good post-morning! I would say good-day, but that somehow seems dismissive. hmm. Anyway, yesterday we added a gourd from Nicaragua to our art collection...



Although it is difficult to judge perception in this image it is the size and shape of 1/2 of a basketball (hemisphere shaped).

from what i thought,vaping is dangerous? burns holes in places?? never tried.
after wife's H A. she is now cold turkey.
i have been trying to just quit ,but just impossible... :oops:

It was impossible for me as well. So I never quit. I just decided to find a way to get my nicotine that wasn't dangerous.
I am still an addict. Those of you that did the cold turkey thing I salute you.
My father in law pointed out you can start once and quit a thousand times. Each time you fail it makes you feel worse.
So I didn't quit. I found a different way. In fact nicotine has some health benefits for some, like me. It stimulates the brain in a way that benefits certain disease conditions. I have increased my nicotine intake recently.

Since the government makes tremendous amounts of money from tobacco they have tried to convince everyone vaping is dangerous. It can be. Like anything. You are vaporizing something and inhaling it. Know what you are doing and it can be entirely safe and save you from cigarettes.

I could have you never smoking again in 1 day. I have done it for other people. In a half a day you will notice you feel better. You don't have to be an showy person that makes huge clouds. You can vape almost anywhere. I was in Cleveland clinic for a week. They never noticed.

It was impossible for me as well. So I never quit. I just decided to find a way to get my nicotine that wasn't dangerous.

It was extremely easy for me to quit smoking Cold Turkey and anyone could do it. :)

It was 1971 andI was on this LZ on the Cambodian border "enjoying" a cigarette while I was 50 yards away from our burm or perimeter talking to a helicopter pilot friend of mine. (There were no roads)



I walked out there to get the mail from him which was in a big Santa Claus sack, but green of course.
It was a small "LOH" helicopter and the engine was running.

As we were talking, a few bullets, I think two or three hit the side of the bird a few inches from me. They are very loud as they penetrate aluminum but not very noisy when they penetrate you. :rolleyes: My friend took off and all I had was this 50lb sack of mail.

I ran as fast as I could and was afraid to drop the sack because I guess I figured it offered some sort of bullet proof protection. ( Maybe it did because I am still here.)

Anyway, I made it to our perimeter which was two layers of sandbags about a foot high and I jumped over and "bit dust".

Even though I though I was 19 years old and in excellent shape, almost immediately I started choking on this disquesting black, sticky tar stuff that was oozing from my nose and mouth. The taste was horrible, sort of like detritus mixed with 2 week old clams that were left on the sidewalk in Boca Raton Florida.

From that moment on, I couldn't go near a cigarette even though they were free there and you got 4 of them with every C Ration meal that I ate every day for the year.

It was simple and would work for most people. :p

Good morning! Had a successful day at the CC live sale. It seems like it's easier to get the corals I want now...maybe because so many different vendors are doing the live sales? Seems like when I did my first few, it was almost impossible to get anything. I may come back today and check for a few zoanthids I'd like to add to the BioCube.

My next big plan is to set up my nano ATO in the BioCube, which has been sitting for months. Right now, I'm the ATO! I only have to add a little bit every other day, but the ATO would be nice.

Good Morning! It's a brisk 13 again today with a high of 27. Possibility of 1/2" of snow. The slednecks are beginning to show up. Why do they feel the compulsion to constantly rev the engines? Haven’t touched one since.

I don't smoke. I can't stand the fumes, I can't stand alcohol or gambling. My sister dropped smoking for vaping. And when my dad found out he had small lung cancer and how that cancer works.. He said F it. And started smoking again.
I have different addictions ;Sour Guess that's why I am here.

greetings i had my phone off and when i turned it back on it was just in time for the guy, who got me started by gifting me animals from his tear down, to text asking if he could come over for a half gallon of RODI, lol sure. he had a nice visit with the corals, starfish, and the clown that he gave me when i first set up.

P.S. the Pappy Van Winkle was fabulous yesterday, had a few fingers of it then enjoyed some real absinthe that some family brought back from France this week. Wormwood is the devil's work.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
We went into Nashville on Saturday and had an opportunity to see, first hand, what the tornadoes did in Kingston Springs and Shacklett last weekend. Shacklett, which is a small, unincorporated community along HWY 70, is completely gone. It was a real eye opener for us. We had given thought to a storm shelter in the past and now have decided it is a MUST HAVE.
After some research yesterday, we found a company fairly local to us that offers several different types of shelters and “safe rooms”.
They have a concrete, in ground shelter ( 6’x8’x6’1” tall, inside dimensions), fully vented and (the door and exposed roof) can withstand EF5 tornado forces. Free delivery, excavated, installed and graded in one day for $6700 ( $150/hr extra if they hit rock and have to cut through. )
The 6’x8’ is large enough for Angela and myself, the two parrots “travel” cages, three cat carriers and still have room to shove the chickens in there with us. Looks like we might be doing it soon.
