Just got home. Kit is getting fixed and Mocha has an eye infection. Sitting in the waiting room with the old cat ladies and I realized I was one too. I never feel that way when I take Bear. At least Jeanna was with me.

New skimmer. Take the lid off. Open it to max flow and air and let it run. It will settle in in a few days.
Don't try to make it work. That prolongs the agony.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I knew the right thing to do, based on hours and hours of research on my protein skimmer alone, but when you see it going crazy, you think you need to do something. :rolleyes: I didn't! It settled down yesterday and is performing well. Cheers!

I should be stress free right now since we're not doing all the cooking/cleanup for Thanksgiving this year, but I'm flying out on Sunday for a 6 day business trip and I haven't shown my wife how to maintain the 3 QT's and DT yet lol ;Nailbiting Trying to automate as much as I can before I leave.

Break it down day by day for her so she'll have a checklist.

For sure! The biggest thing I think is going to be showing her which pieces have the potential to go haywire(skimmers) and where the plugs are, and getting some 1g jugs filled with fresh water to top off the ATO's so she doesn't have to lift the big 5g ones.

Yeah, we have a combo of a new puppy and my wife having tendinitis in her elbow, so we decided to have Thanksgiving at our local supper club :) Definitely feels different not panicking about "did I start thawing the turkey early enough?!". Or how many more trips do I have to make to the dang grocery store lol

Same here too. Husband is coming back at 10pm on Thanksgiving night from 10 day business trip to Malaysia. So not even sure yet what my daughter and I are doing. We usually have a house full so this year will be different.

I'm sure he's going to be a bundle of joy when he gets back after that flight(s). I know I am every time i come back from SE Asia and my trips are for vacation. I recently flew back from Manila: 9.5 hours to Doha, Qatar, and then 14 hours from Doha to Philly. And unfortunately i cannot sleep on a plane. Happy Thanksgiving, Mrs Bugmaster. :)

Yeah, he won't want to do anything for a couple days. Fortunately he is a good negotiator and got it in his contract that any flights over 5 hours is business class. That helps some. But he's home for only three days then off to Mexico again. :confused: Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
