Good morning! I also learned a valuable lesson from the toddler tornado. I usually mix several varieties of frozen cubes and feed over several days. I also have flake food, which I use occasionally and also use when needed in my auto feeder. Well, I just happened to be feeding the thawed frozen food during the holidays. The 3-year-old always wants to watch me feed the fish (and asks if they can eat about 20 times per day), but he's perfectly content to sit in my chair in front of the tanks and watch.
The toddler tornado wanted to FEED the fish. She kept pointing at my tongs/food and grunting. No way any small child is feeding the frozen food. She'd probably try to eat it! Anyway, Grammie did the most horrible thing and nicely told her no. My kids didn't throw temper tantrums. They got mad, but never threw a spread-eagle, face-down, screaming and crying, beating on the floor tantrum. This one did.
Grammie immediately switched to flake food, where each child got to hold a tiny pinch of flake food and drop it in the tanks. All was well. Bad Grammie. :grimacing-face: Lesson learned. Flake food only when the kids are in town!
Have a great day! :)
