Good Morning!

Good Morning and Happy Saint Patties Day. We are having a bunch of company for dinner so I am baking a bunch of Irish Soda Bread. I am Sicilian so it is a stretch but my friend is from Cork in Ireland and I have his Grand Mother's recipe. :D

I baked a small test loaf a few days ago, and ate the entire thing so it is good.

as many times as Sicily "changed hands" through history we Sicilians just might have a pinch of Irish blood running through our veins.
Sicilian here also!

And FYI, Corned Beef is Americanized Irish food.
Yes we are also having that.

Saint Patrick was born in Rome controlled England near the southern border of what is now Wales. so he may have had a little Sicilian in him. Maybe before he chased those snakes away.
Of course that was in the year 450 so just before I was born.

He was captured as a teenager by Irish traders and was sold back to Ireland. During those 6 years he tended sheep. Maybe baked a little Irish Soda bread to snack on and it was probably better than mine but he had a supply of goat milk.

He had holy visions and an angel begged him to go back to Ireland to train as a Bishop where he spread Christianity around Ireland.
He did a lot of other cool things and seemed like a really cool guy who I would have like to hang around with.

(Of course I googled that as I didn't really have all the info in my head)
I have green eyes so maybe a little Irish. :D

good morning all... :) Happy st. Patricks day..
storms a brewing..eyes to the sky...have a great day..:)

How long did it take for your clown to get acclimatised? And your other fishes to accept him? Mine has been in the box 3 days, and my wrasse doesn't seem to be very welcoming?

That's a tough situation. My clown has been "re-homed" to my 2nd tank for being a bad guy. I'm thinking about putting my clown back in my larger tank in a few weeks.

Speaking of Irish, my grandmother was an Irish immigrant. I have many, many firey redheads in my family (not me). I'm hoping one of my grands ends up a firey redhead, although that little person will drive the parents crazy! They will be so adorably cute and Grammie and Papa will think it's just grand! ;Joyful

Another Sicilian here. Grandpa came over on the boat from Palermo. So did Grandma.

Everyone on both sides of my family came from Sciacca Sicily. We went there and it seems half the people there have the same last name as mine and that name comes from no place else.
Even the "Mayor" has the same name. They treated us like we had an old reef tank. :p

WE also went to Ellis Island and saw their signatures from the ship Log they came over on in 1901

Everyone in my family also sold fish.

my dad has a framed pic of the ship and the ship log of passengers, with my grandfathers name.

Morning Folks!
Small world! All four of my Grandparents came over from Palermo also. They all passed through Ellis Island. Wonder if any of us are related?
Well, we dodged another bullet with the weather yesterday. Just a bunch of heavy rain.
I hope @ReefGrammie did okay. The “bad stuff” was headed in their direction last time I checked the forecast before I went to bed last night.
Y’all have a great day and Stay Safe!

We did fine, Mike. We had lots of heavy rain, but when I got up at 3:00 to check the radar, everything was pretty much gone (thankfully). I even brought in the patio cushions, thinking they might end up in the pond behind my house!
