Good Morning. I got out a little early this morning, about 5:40. Before the sun came up. I waited until it got bright enough to take this picture about 6:00



Nothing exciting happened. I only saw one anemic deer, no muskrat Sally's (which are really woodchucks) and a few rabbits which don't run from me any more. This "horse farm/ranch"

I am a city boy so I am not sure what they are called but this was for rescue horses and retired police horses. It closed about last fall and since then, the weeds are up to my neck.



There used to be no sign of vegetation when the horses were eating the stuff.

Good morning. I’m up early today. Dog I’m sitting for is an early riser. Nothing specific planned for the day. My husband has an overnight trip so it will be quiet here with just me and the animals. Woo hoo! That means I control the tv remote! ;)

Good Morning All!
All kinds of stuff going on here the past few days. There is a street light on the power pole up near our barn that had burned out a few days ago. It gets really dark back here in the woods and the light is much needed. Power company came out yesterday and replaced the entire fixture with an LED unit. Super bright.
My delivery from Vincent’s Meats in Brooklyn was supposed to be here yesterday but I got an actual phone call from the shipper telling me it was delayed. They said it’s in a refrigerated holding facility in Indianapolis, even though FedEx said “ on truck for delivery” yesterday. Sure hope it’s not rancid when it arrives.
Angela got home late last night and has to fly out again Sunday afternoon. She will be home Tuesday night so she can go with me for yet ANOTHER MRI.
I think they are just trying to see if they can get me to glow in the dark. LOL!
I have a little bit of mowing to get done this morning then I can officially start my weekend ( which consists of the same exact chores as
Monday thru Friday ). Then a quick water change on the tank.

impatiently waiting for the 9 oclock customer meeting.
i'm off the clock at precisely 951.
hope i'm done with the meeting by then.
then off to see my tax dude.
the mrs. is "retiring" (only from her current employer after 27 years) so need to setup what to do with her pension and profit sharing.
then I'm off to Cherry Corals to pick up last weekends live sale haul.
beyond that.... no idea.
probably dinner out...... again.
tad too warm/humid (no ac) to be cooking.

I saw this gopher tortoise again yesterday. On a road with almost no traffic, he likes to walk along the edge near his burrow and eat the grass along the side. I guess it's easier to walk on the road than through the grass! I am off to the LFS this morning and will try to avoid coming home with any coral. I'll let you know tomorrow about the coral I bought, lol. I hope everyone stays safe and enjoys themselves over the weekend. Time for a second cup of coffee and some work!

I've been told this since I can remember :(

I’m questioning the safety of the college (SIU) my daughter is at. First week of school and over the weekend a freshman girl was shot and killed while at an “on campus” house party.

I pray you find some comfort. I didn't know what to say. I would be in pure shock over this. Nothing can put into words what you are going through. It doesn't end.

a neighbor (who does not have children) said to some others at a party that we were way too up-tight about our daughter

No one has the right to tell you how to be a parent. That's your job to figure out. Just like our kids figure out which buttons to push to get their way. Some of us need guidance our whole lives. Some, do fine.

Good morning everyone! Got a little sleep last night. Woke up around 2 am and decided to read up on anemone medication guide on here. Turns out there was more of an argument on "environment issues" with disposing of cipro water... Priorities I guess...
I was hoping to learn of some signs of when to treat my bta with cipro should it ever occur. I think, even if I didn't see it. That eunice worm ate half of the bta while it was under the rock. No signs of gut spilling, mouth stays closed. But, it's half the size of what it was when it arrived, one side is shorter than the other side. Still sticky to the touch. I brushed up against it moving a frag. It was an accident I swear!

I do hope all is well for everyone. The world has gotten crazy, or it always has been.

I will never figure out why my dog likes to attack my feet in the morning... She is slightly over 3 yrs old and still full of play.

Time for coffee and breakfast.. Then back to reading.

I saw this gopher tortoise again yesterday.

I just rescued an eastern Box turtle today on the road. He was in front of my car and I stopped as there was a huge truck behind me.

I'm late today! Friday is errand day, making up for what I can't seem to accomplish Mon-Thurs.

My LED replacement has FINALLY arrived. Waiting for son to get back so we can take down the canopy and switch it out....and hope the corals don't go into complete shock. Otherwise, probably a W/C on the BioCube this weekend and making more "fish water."

I'm so glad September is almost here. Fall is my favorite time of year! Spring is second. I guess summer is third. Winter is LAST....unless I'm in the Caribbean. Have a great weekend!

I love the Fall also. Cool crisp temps and lots of color. Unfortunately, being back in the woods, I get leaves up to my neck to deal with. I have to do them in stages. Usually about ten hours a week throughout the season.

It's a similar situation with my young one. Sunny (the dog) the moment my little one came home, she was throwing her toys into his crib. She never suffered separation anxiety before. The moment my son walks out that door, even if it with his dad or me, she goes nuts. You can hear her howl and cry . It's so heart breaking.
I wonder if that's why our next door neighbors moved...

But if 1 of us leave. Yup... who cares.

These gopher tortoises are amazing. They are about 1 foot long, live in 15 foot long tunnels they dig and live to about 60. This one will likely be alive when I am gone!
