After finding I have been extremely optimistic when reading my test kits I am going to Hanna checkers to keep myself honest.
I just ordered ones for alk and Ca and have nitrate and phosphate now.
Not that the fish care.

I find watching the bubbles in the sulfur reactor to be mesmerizing, especially in the middle of the night. It's like a lava lamp.

They are great....just make sure you put the right test tube in the right checker or you might end up with an alk of 20! :eek: Not that I've ever done such a thing....nope, never. :rolleyes:

Good morning! I saw several of you at the POTO live sale yesterday. I'm usually hiding behind the scenes beating up my F5 key. It was my first one of theirs and I really liked the format. I was happy to get a few pieces on my wish list. I think this will finish up my tanks and I will no longer participate in live sales. :rolleyes::D;Hilarious

I'm heading out for my walk soon. Hopefully, I won't encounter any bears along the way...or tail-less squirrels...or peanut butter! Have a great Sunday. ;Joyful

Good morning! I have eggs in the nest Daddy is doing a good job for his first spawn. I offered a little food for him. He ate but not as excitedly as his wife lol. She acted like she hadn’t eaten in 2 weeks! I don’t see a ton of eggs, but there’s always more. As you can see daddy is very protective of his littles.

Hope Y’all are having a great weekend. Couple little projects to get done today before the afternoon rain rolls in.
I scored a “vintage-ISH” Coca Cola cooler yesterday from a neighbors junk pile for only $20. Still deciding if I’m going to restore it and use it as a cooler or make a planter out of it.
Angela flys out to Texas this afternoon and will be back late Tuesday. I’m worried about her traveling anywhere south with Ida going on but I think Texas is not really in the path.

I saw several of you at the POTO live sale yesterday

Yup, I got provoked. Now Tuesday I get to see the truth! Ordered 4 corals from them. I could have snagged most of the 10$ ones. But they were just about the same thing every time. I didn't want 5 frags of wwc purple monsters zoas. I did like the sp's code word "white walkers" though. Maybe next time I'll get a frag if the ones I get are as nice as pictured.

No coffee yet, so there's probably a 100 spelling errors in there somewhere.

Good morning! Tank maintenance day - WC, GFO & carbon media swap, and time for the sonic hedgehog galaxea coral to go... :( That coral is relentless and is now almost big enough to tango with my favorite torch. Little ******* already killed half of a jack o lantern lepto.

A little late for a good morning, so good afternoon. I've had my fill of coffee so I am going to have some lunch and look at everyone's POTO haul. I watched the sale for a while but didn't buy anything because my tank is overfull. I'm going to have to get rid of some stuff and it's kind of depressing because I don't want to. Did they ever give away a hoodie in the POTO sale?

Before picture.. That galaxea looks harmless right now, but you can see the damage it did to the lepto next to it. I'm guessing my green torch can hold its own, but I really like that lepto and want to save it. This is gonna get ugly lol..

The sky is beautiful this morning, which means trouble is on the way! The remnants of the hurricane are supposed to show up here later tonight/tomorrow with gusty wind/heavy rain. Both generators are on standby and hopefully won't be needed. I'll be making a quick grocery run in a bit and will plan to stay inside for a few days.

On a good note, the temperatures are going to be falling and it will feel more fall like later this week. I'll definitely take that. Sounds like it will be a good grilling weekend for the start of college football season! :D Stay safe, everyone!

Morning All!
Woke up this morning to find the house exceptionally warm. 81* and the thermostat was set at 68*.
Turned the system off and then on. That’s when it “hit the fan”. Smoke and sparks coming from the thermostat. I yanked that thing off the wall and avoided a fire. Sure am glad that didn’t happen when we were not home. It was replaced last year when they came out to repair our furnace so I have an emergency call in to the HVAC guy.

Good Morning. Cloudy here but I went to the beach for a walk early this morning and the water is calm and pretty clear (for New York) If I had time today I would collect water, but time is something there is never enough of.

I didn't see anything exciting on my beach walk. On my way back I did see a Deer on my left. There was also a pretty girl on my right. I said "hello Dear". Speaking to the deer, but the girl just gave me a dirty look.
