Good or bad algae?

This tank is not quite two months old. Is this algae good or bad at this point? I thought the red stuff was Coraline and I was glad to see it, but then I read that Coraline has to be introduced to a tank. I haven't done anything to introduce it, so now I'm not sure.

its good algae, part of the ugly phase. it will pass. In my experience, you don't have to deliberately introduce coraline algae, it will find a way to get to your tank through frag plugs, snails etc. just give it time.

That's good to know. I do have a couple of hermits that came in with pretty crusty looking shells. Maybe that's where is came from.

I actually don't mind the way this looks. It's much better than the nasty brown diatoms phase.
