Rimless tanks are a simple install for these brackets.

A rimmed tank, one needs to be creative. I used some acrylic and cut some shims to have something for the front hooks the sit on water side, to brace against the plastic rim and the glass.

I did a quick drawing, and hope this helps explain my thought.
