Hello Reef2Reef,
I got my first hammer coral today. I'm a big Euphyllia fan and plan to keep a Euphyllia dominated tank but this is my first Euphyllia coral.
I got it really cheap since the LFS said the hammer lost colour due to him being too busy to feed this one. He told me initially it was a gold/yellow looking one and I thought I'd try bringing it back if that's even possible. Otherwise I get a cheap hammer coral for experience.
- Can you please help me ID if possible? No stress.
- What would you say it's health status is?
-What can I do to help it thrive? Feeding?

Currently my tank has very few corals and I do not feed them, they all seem happy. Thanks in advance for your inputs and happy reefing!

As far as ID, if I were you I wouldn't get too caught up on names. They change day to day. As for health, it doesn't look unhealthy. Water quality is always the best way to keep and maintain LPS. As long as you have a little nitrate, phosphate, and decent lighting, it should thrive

Perfect! Thank you so much. Im super excited to see where this goes. I test my water weekly and instead of trying to get them to numbers that's considered stable, I try to keep them where they are and I'm going to try and creep them up towards recommended parameters. Im using natural sea water so my alk is quite low. But everything seems happy so I'm happy!

No problem at all. I'm no expert by any means but feel free to ask any questions you have. I'll try my best to help out
