Hi R2R! While cleaning my tank today, I noticed one of the branches of my hammer is receding. Should I dip? Cut off the branch to keep whatever from spreading? Other advice?

Current parameters:
Temp: 78.7 F
PH: 8.33
Salinity: 1.026
Cal: 430
Alk: 7.7
Mag: 1430
NO3: 12
PO4: 0.36

Generally from stress and in many cases due to:
Low calcium
Too much flow
Too much or too little light
Pests
High salinity

Being on the sand can irritate them.

Thank you all. I suspect sand irritation / stress / BJD is very likely. So I’ll frag the healthy head, dip and rinse in RO? Do you also advise a subsequent water change?

I wouldn't put coral in RO. If you suspect bacteria infection then an iodine dip or ciprofloaxin might help.
