Hey everyone so I have a green killing machine on both of my reef tanks (both are all in ones so this was the easiest way to go) but anyways has anyone else had problems with the impeller shaft rusting? Both of my UVs have a rusted impeller shaft and I’ve only had them for a couple months. I find it kinda weird that both my units have this same problem

Someone else posted up about this before. The pump its self is considered a wear item. I've replaced the pump before as an maintenance item, usually once a year. I used the 24w and the smaller units to help keep water clear and they do fine for that.

I now use a much larger uv, but that's obviously due to upping tank size.

Also iirc, they weren't necessarily designed for a saltwater tank in the first place.
