Hello everyone! First post and first salt water tank (have some freshwater experience both tanks and large pond)
I went with the hello reef kit for the convenience but it also helped with the spouse as well.
My question to everyone is how often do you scrape your back glass? Can I put the rock work closer too it? I found making my rock scape quite difficult. I’m not in love with how it came out but I’m satisfied. Only downside is I didn’t leave enough space in the front (in my novice opinion).
Could I get away with moving it further back toward the wall?
All help appreciated.

Welcome !! Regarding the back glass, you will find people that scrape it daily, and those that have never touched it lol. Just depends on personal preference. I like all four of my walls clean so I scrape constantly.

Back glass- I depend on snails/clean up crew as well as a long handled algae scraper

Once the tank had gone through the ugly phase and coralline algae started to establish on the back, I've pretty much stopped scraping it. I also started growing green star polyp on the back so it would not make sense to scrape it.

I think you can get away with pushing the rocks further back in the long run. The only thing you will need to ensure is having enough flow back there.

I agree with @Waters that it depends on personal preference. In the past I would let the Mexican terbo snails clean it and I would touch up once a month.
