Gsp- possibly dead

I got some mats from a hobbyist and I had them in a 10 gallon with an older heater. I did not know that the temp got up to about 90 or so. It was hot. It was like that for maybe a a day. That was a few weeks ago. The mats I did not flush are a noce dark purple still. I see some very small polyps stick out periocally but they are white. And it is very slow. Just a few polyps. I probably meesed up with the ones I flushed. They too had the white polyps sticking out. Very few. I thought they were dead. Plus the mat wasn't dark purple and they did have some smell. Anyway this is really taking a ling time but ever so slowly staring to come out.

GSP is incredibly hardy. It sounds like they may have bleached from the prolonged temperatures, which is normal.
Give it a while to recover. It may not show polyp extension for several days. In the meantime, you might try feeding with aminos since they won't be capturing much if any nutrition from photosynthesis or prey.
If they end up passing, sometimes it just happens - look at what you can do differently next time and consider it valuable experience.
