Hi all,
I have had a green star polyp for over a year. Has been very happy at the top of my tank, always full and exuberant. Had a single temperamental episode when it went for for a week then returned in all its glory.
For the past 2-3 weeks the GSP has struggling. There is only a small patch of open polyps now. The remainder of the rock on which it is growing still displays a vibrant purple mat but looks as though it has shed its outer skin, for lack of a better term.
Water quality has not changed. Haven't changed his placement.
SG 1.023 - 1.024
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrates < 20
Calcium 400
Doing regular water changes weekly.
30 gallon tank with LEDs, 2 x 1400 gph powerheads. Nothing has changed in setup.
Is the fact that the mat is still purple a positive?
Should I change placement?
Could one of my critters be marauding ? (clownfish, large blue chromi, tuxedo urchin, fire shrimp, skink cleaner, emerald crab).
Any suggestions?
Thanks as always,
Jeff
