I bought about 25lbs from gulf live rock and 4 of these anemones came on one of the pieces, can anyone help me I.d. Them? I cycled the rock for a week and all 4 survived.

Look up aiptasia (bad guys) and curlique anemones (good guys) and decide which one you have. Or post a picture under white lights and I'll have a better answer for you. Fwiw I'm thinking aiptasia

I was thinking rock or warty as well and believe me I’ve looked up every anemone I could find, I just don’t want to risk my fish or future corals so any thoughts are appreciated

I thought they were not shipping??? When did you get it?
Not TB rock but gulfliverock.com I certainly wouldn’t recommend them as I requested the rock be shipped in water by air frieght and it came dry with damp paper on it. Only a few worms and the anemones survived. Oh and a big clam lol.

Damp with paper has been the method for decades

lol i feel like he knew that and thats why he asked them to ship it in water by air freight...

But OP, what were you expecting other than worms, aptasia and a big clam anyways?
To be able to place it in the display without weeks of curing like I did with the KP rock I ordered, the KP rock came in with incredible life and 0 die off.
Sure it’s been shipped that way for decades but that doesn’t mean it’s optimal. I was looking forward to pods, sponges, macro algae’s, possible shrimp, crabs, snails, star fish, corals, and/or whatever else. Instead I got a few bristle worms and a ton of die off. But the principle of the matter was that they agreed to ship in water per request, I requested and paid air freight, took a day off from work, the flight was delayed an hour, so after driving 1.5 hours to sit for 1 hour, to drive 1.5 hours home, only to see the rock half dead and dry.. I’m not happy. Not to mention the terrible customer service. He tried accusing me of a “shake down” lol. I provided him with screenshots of the email, his website shipping policy, and pictures of the packaged rock, along with his text saying in water per request. No worries tho KP rock from now on, it’s incredible and the guy is capable of evolving to new improved methods.
Sorry for the rant, just hoping to help anyone unsure.. go with KP.

so does everyone agree, rock or warty?

Man that sucks, I'd be ticked off too. I just ordered from there and am very happy with what I got. No gorillas but 3 red emeralds, some halimeda, lots of sponges, a fair size gorgonian. That said I did not pay to have air freighted with water so my attitude would be different after paying that premium and not getting it.

I vote curlique, definitely not aiptasia in any case.

It’s called a Lightbulb Anemone. I was told No Aiptasia is in Florida Gulf Waters.

I got my LR from Gulf Live Rock. 100% satisfied. Made 2 orders and Quantitated for 3-4 weeks in 2 tanks. Not much of a cycle
