my zoas have been closed up for about 2 weeks now the hair gets all over them and its like stringy mucus so ive been using a turkey baster to remove it and a gentle brush

If your tank is fairly new it will go through algae outbreaks. There is nothing you can do about it. It happens to every single one of us. You have to manually keep removing it and over time your tank will start to balance itself out.

Try to stay away from buying corals while you are battling algae outbreaks let your tank balance out first. IMO your best bet will be to buy algae cleanup crew Nd maybe an algae eating fish. Also try not to over feed too much. What is your current water source ?
