So given the basement location of my tank, I have lower PH - 7.5 morning and 7.8 evening. I beleive its contributing to my lower Alk issues. I don't have readily access to the outside world from the tank location, so I added a simple CO2 scrubber. I attached it to my skimmer pump and also to the collection cup for moist recycled air. I did a little research here on R2R and it preserves the soda lime longer so I wont have to change it as much. Well, after I hooked it up my PH it now 8.0 in the morning at about 8 am and 8.2 at about 9pm. Alk is now about 6.0. It's come up some but after a discussion with Lou at TP, I plan to increase Part B a couple ML to get to my desired range. Hopefully increasing to my desired levels over the next couple of days.

Have to rearrange the sump area a tad to hang the scrubber but here it is.

Nice job!

I keep hearing more and more about CO2 being an issue. I wonder if I should just start off with a scrubber on my curve 7.

What do you think?

Really depends on your PH and the location of your tank. Regardless though it’s a simple relatively inexpensive solution. I would plan for it if I were to upgrade or start a new build.

Now just trying to get my ALK up a bit before I add more coral. Been awhile since I have added some. New fish in QT so moving forward on that front.

I forgot to ask: Where do you get your soda lime? I see it on amazon but that seems pretty expensive. Or does this stuff last a long long time?

Sorry just saw this. I buy at Bulk Reef Supply. There local here too.

Hopefully last about 2-3 mos from what I read but depends on where you are pulling air from.

I guess I will take a poll. I have all this extra schedule 80 PVC and valves. Do I sell and buy more animals? Or do I make my water station and QT area all pretty with Ace Roto Mold tanks with tubing and ball valves?

The Brute can on the floor has cycled rock that has been sitting with a pump running for about a year. I seed my media for QT filters in it.

After reading through the Let's Mix it Up threads I was thinking about this with the brutes

So it’s been awhile since my last update so it’s way overdue. Good day to do it too. Kids at home due to extreme cold air, -29 air temp last night with -50 wind chill.

Well I have my Alk dialed in and now trying to get my Calc up. Sitting at 330 now. PO4 is .01 and Nitrates are zero. Need to get those up some but corals look great and are growing. I use reef roids once a week but planning to start acropower as well. Fingers crossed.

I also switched out my two C+ bulbs and am running 4 B+. I like the colors.

Let’s see my MP10 finally decided the glass was too thick for the magnet to work so I plan to replace it with a Octo due to the directional ability for my supplemental flow. I have been trying to add more flow and am contemplating sand removal - at least around the outer sections. I have a transitioning M. Bipartitus so would like to keep some in the middle.

Here’s a few SPS that need to be placed:

I really need to figure out the photo thing. Not my cup of tea.

Also trying to do vid but not wanting to load.

Looking great @HairyGary! My wrasse attack the nori also when I feed it. "Carnivores." LOL. Do you have a picture of the M. bipartitus?
I know! It’s crazy! Here is one. He’s been in the DT for only 2 days.
