looks nice. Is it similar to AquaSd rainbow monti?

Do you mean the Rainbow Phoenix monti? The ASD rainbow monti is just your run of the mill rainbow.

IMO all of these new montis, ASD Rainbow Phoenix, Beach Bum, Halo, and so on are pretty much the same piece. Just kept under different conditions. Add to that the pic manipulation that many vendors use and you get these slight changes in look from one to the next. Hasn't anyone ever wondered how they all showed up in the market at roughly the same time.

Yeah that's the idea, I'll only frag when the bottom disk is completely covered(this is how I usually do it, that way I insure that I keep a sweet piece)

It's the same species but certainly not the same piece. In the case of this one and a beach bum/Phoenix. I do believe that the Phoenix and the beach bum are similar and could possibly be the same though. This one goes straight to brown if it's not happy/ in proper conditions. The Phoenix and beach bum turn that whiteish color instead

Funny you mention that. I have the RR Nauti Spiral. Again same species, however I believe it was the first to be released and RR didn't have quite the time these others had to manipulate the look. It behaves the exact same way as you describe. Basically you cannot touch it, if you try to move it frag it change the lighting, anything all the color goes and it needs to acclimate all over again. I will try to get a good pic to add but its not easy since it resides in the shadows for the most part.

This one I have directly under one of the pucks of the Radions. I had it lower for a while and it was brown as heck. It grew pretty quickly it just looked like something that had no hope. I've been too greedy to frag this, it looks too nice and I want to keep a nice big colony of it. I added more flow today so maybe that'll make it bumpier as well.

I have a chunk of Halo monti directly from JF, need to get some photos. Like has been said, it was starting to look good until I moved it over an inch on the frag rack, now polyps retracted and looks cranky and lost some color.

I agree color isn't like JF's photos, but it looks to have potential. I started with a fresh cut and it went straight to LED, so I figure there will be a long acclimation period. And just like the Nautispiral/Shades of Fall/Slowburn the colors seem variable and finicky.

This is a much faster grower than Beach Bum, Outrage, etc. They are thick danae type encrusting corals, this is a thinner palawanensis plating type like the Nautispiral/Shades of Fall/Slowburn.

For the most part they just stay home( I like keeping doubles/ triples of everything) if not I'll take it in to work and we'll post it up in a pack of some sorts
