Any idea why the flesh on the head is drooping down? I have to transfer it to a new plug that other stuff is irritating it. But not sure why the flesh is extending down.

could it be like a polyp bail out? or possibly its recession from stress?

Here is a different angle…looks like it’s splitting…idk I guess if it splits and I loose that one not a big deal.

They don't split in that fashion. They grow and branch off new heads and sometimes new heads will form around the old head and grow outward. The polyps should not come loose from the skeleton.

It looks pale and the tentacles are retracted and there is not much flesh around the outside of the skeleton. These are not good signs. What are your water parameters and par levels? How long have you had it?

I’ve had it for about 8 months….all parameters are in check minus my heater went out and the temp went down to 68 a few days ago but that has been rectified. The cloves were growing up the stalk that could also contribute to the receding. I got them off the stalk but still need to move it to a different frag plug light I’m using an AI Prime Sol 10 in above the water line and coral is about 4 inches below water. Not sure what the par is there is no local fish store to get one from.
