One of the heads on my torch started drooping yesterday, (I noticed it last night when my lights were ramping down)(1st picture).

Today it seems to be the same (checked on my Wyze camera) video, I right side of video)

My pH is always low and I’ve had the coral for about 2 months, it’s always been healthy.

I plan to pull it and see if I see any worms or anything by the flesh/skeleton but was wondering iff I should check something else.

The thing that is throwing me is that it’s only the one head

I don’t see anything particularly out of the ordinary here I would observe for another 24 hours, but if you see something obvious then, yes a dip might help, but I would keep watching my torches sometimes go a couple days, not looking quite right and then bounce back fine. LPs stuff

I agree with the above. It is a little concerning that it hasn't already bounced back, so a manual inspection for flatworms is in order, but I have two joker torches that deflate way more than that almost to looking like a goner status just to plump back up again.

I pulled it when I got home and he’s separated, can see the inside. We did an iodine dip but I’m not sure I want to put it back in the tank.

Sad thing is the other polyp looks great but they are still connected so we couldn’t frag it.

I work tomorrow and don’t want to risk brown jelly.

I’m suspecting my Nero 3 power head, being set on 3% most of the time, was still too much and I ripped it.

****UPDATE**** Found one of the Nero’s was actually set to 43 in Fusion not 3…

I hate that my learning cost me the coral.

Wishing you best of luck. 🫶

As much as it does suck, atleast it was "just" a head of a torch, and not the entire coral collection near said pump

Am I stupid to think maybe I should just remove the dying polyp (ie, pull it from the skeleton)?

I did something similar yesterday morning, not sure why this head was giving me issues, but for a few days, it was declining. Before yesterday morning, it had a lot of tissue loss.

My best guess is that It was too close to the rock, and it tried to grow/split but couldn't, causing this.

I ended up cutting that head off to avoid any chances, as im not sure what it was and didnt want it spreading (if it was bacterial) to the other heads, aditionally, the injured head iirc can lead to BJD, which is something one does NOT want.
